EchoPath, Inc. (“EchoPath,” “we,” “us” or “our”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights with respect to that information when you use our website (echopath.life), mobile applications (the “App”), and related services (collectively, the “Service”).


1. Information We Collect

1.1 Account & Profile Data

  • Registration Info: name, email address, password.
  • Device ID: Apple ID (iOS) or Google account (Android) for TestFlight/APK distribution.
  • Profile Details: persona (commuter, creator, etc.), preferred routes, availability.

1.2 User Content

  • Audio Recordings & Routes: clips you record, pins you drop, routes you build.
  • Ratings & Reviews: feedback you submit on other creators’ clips.

1.3 Location Data

  • Precise GPS: collected only when the App is actively running in the foreground or background (if you opt in), to trigger audio playback and map your recordings.
  • Offline Coordinates: if you manually enter an address to pin content.

1.4 Usage & Analytics Data

  • Interaction Events: clip plays, route completions, ratings, tips.
  • Device & App Information: device model, OS version, App version, crash logs.
  • Performance Metrics: session length, completion rates, retention.

1.5 Payment & Creator Earnings

  • Transaction Data: amounts, timestamps, route IDs, tip IDs—processed via Stripe or other providers.
  • Payout Details: bank or payment platform account identifiers for creators.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • Provide & Improve the Service: deliver GPS-triggered audio, route-building, creator dashboards, and personalized recommendations.
  • Communicate with You: onboarding emails, support responses, feature announcements, surveys.
  • Process Payments: charge for paid routes, distribute creator earnings, handle refunds.
  • Analytics & Research: understand usage patterns, troubleshoot issues, plan new features.
  • Safety & Compliance: detect fraud, enforce our Terms of Service, comply with legal obligations.

3. How We Share Your Information

  • Service Providers: AWS/GCP (hosting, storage), Stripe (payments), Firebase (analytics), AI vendors (noise reduction, transcripts).
  • Creators & Users: public User Content (clips, routes, ratings) appears on live maps and may be viewed by other users.
  • Legal Requirements: if required by law or court order, or to protect rights, safety, or property of EchoPath or others.
  • Business Transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice and appropriate safeguards.

4. Your Choices & Rights

  • Account Management: update or delete your profile at any time via Settings.
  • Location Permissions: grant or revoke at the device level; without location access, core features won’t work.
  • Communications Opt-Out: click “unsubscribe” in marketing emails or adjust preferences in your account.
  • Data Access & Deletion: you may request a copy of your personal data or request deletion by emailing privacy@echopath.life. We’ll comply unless retention is legally required.

5. Data Retention

We retain personal and usage data as long as needed to provide the Service and fulfill legal obligations. Creator content (routes, clips) remains available until you delete your account or the content is removed for policy violations.


6. Security

We implement industry-standard measures—encryption in transit (HTTPS), secure storage (encrypted S3 buckets), access controls, and regular security audits—to protect your data. However, no system is 100% secure; use strong passwords and notify us of any suspected breach.


7. Children’s Privacy

Our Service is not intended for users under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently done so, please contact us and we will delete that data.


8. Cookies & Tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the Service, remember preferences, and analyze usage. You can control cookies via your browser or device settings, but disabling essential cookies may limit functionality.


9. International Transfers

EchoPath is headquartered in the U.S., and your data may be processed or stored in the U.S. or other countries. By using the Service, you consent to such transfers under applicable laws.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We’ll post the revised version with a new “Last updated” date and, if changes are material, provide notice via email or in-app.
